Hero films

In video marketing, a ‘hero film’ normally refers to the film that is the first thing visitors see on the top of a website’s homepage. These are all about attention-grabbing content: a high-impact, visually engaging video designed to capture attention and introduce a brand or product to a broad audience. 

Its purposes are usually to:

  • Drive Awareness – to create a strong initial impression, generate buzz, and drive viewers to learn more or make a purchase.
  • Be the top of the Funnel – hero films are typically placed at the beginning of a marketing funnel, aiming to attract new viewers rather than catering to existing customers.
  • Lead with bold creative choices – they often employ bold creative choices and emotional appeals to stand out from the noise and resonate with viewers.
